More than half of Cambodia's population does not have regular access to essential medications and life-saving procedures. This is due to the expense of medical procedures such as surgery is expected to exceed the annual income of the average Cambodian. As a result, many patients opt out of treatment due to a lack of cash, which eventually increases impoverishment.
For that reason, we at HBB Phnom Penh Health Centre would try our best to offer convenient treatment options. As part of our mission at HBB Phnom Penh, we assist deserving patients to receive necessary treatment at an affordable price, or in certain circumstances, at no cost through our subsidy programme. Local surgeons readily embraced our mission, and now several of them are coming front to provide their services at our health centre at a significantly lower rate than they would get at other private hospitals. The participation of the local surgeons also demonstrates that our vision is also shared by the local medical community. We couldn't be happier that our HBB Phnom Penh is gradually turning into a health centre where patients can undergo surgery while doctors can also provide their services to the underprivileged and needy.
We pray to see more advanced operations for the underprivileged and needy at HBB Phnom Penh in the future. If you would like to support our work in Cambodia, please consider making a donation. Our hope is that this humble step will pave the way for a paradigm shift in medical care in the country, where everyone, regardless of income level, will have access to necessary medications and procedures.
