There is No End to What a Team of Dedicated Youths Can Do.

Just one and a half year ago, Hospitals Beyond Boundaries (HBB) Phnom Penh Clinic was established to provide affordable and cultural sensitive health care to the improvised and marginalized communities in Cambodia. This was our early efforts to assist and elevates the local community’s health indicators. And since July 2015, our Clinic had been providing general consultation, circumcision and basic maternity health care services to more than 2,000 patients.

Our journey in Cambodia is not done yet. Over the past years spent in Cambodia, we recognize the great need to improve the current maternal, newborn and child’s health care services. The mortality threat to expectant mothers, newborn and child in Cambodia is still higher than other neighbouring countries (read more at www.who.int). To address this serious concern, HBB opens a Maternity Health Center (MHC) in March 2017 to extend our effort to provide a more comprehensive maternity and child health care services.

The MHC concept was born to cater for women, newborn and child through the different phases of pregnancy from planning until post-delivery. We hope to provide a complete maternal and child health care service in one center to ease women from daily setbacks (i.e. lack of transport or money for transport, multiple health care centers, etc.). And in the first two months since MHC operated, we had more than 30 expecting mothers who came for their antenatal follow-ups and successfully perform our first delivery.

Together, we can change our world.
